Resistance, anti-slip properties and maintenance: essential technical features for spa environments.

Wellness spaces pose specific technical challenges: constant humidity, chemicals used to treat the water, temperature swings between the sauna and relaxation areas, and frequent maintenance.

Porcelain fired above 1,200 C has a porosity below 0.5%: in practice, it does not absorb water. That makes it safe in spa environments where more porous materials risk efflorescence, mould and gradual deterioration.

A design note

Aesthetically, porcelain's authentic shine works especially well with water and the zenithal light typical of contemporary thermal architecture. Calipso, with its wave-like surface, was designed exactly for that.

For pools and pool edges, we offer specific anti-slip finishes on request. Our technical team supports the designer from pattern selection through to the final installation.
